The provision of staff training and development programs is an important strategy for meeting QUT's equity goals relating to student equity and staff equity. The Equity Services Department provides a range of:
Training calendarAs a part of the QUT Staff Community, every staff member should, as a minimum, participate in equity training. This includes undertaking EO Online: fair play on campus as a minimum. EO Online is considered a prerequisite for all equity training programs. Staff should endeavour to undertake EO Online and at least one other equity training session in their PPR each year to meet their responsibilities. This is about 3 to 4 hours out of each year for equity training - a small investment for positive and equitable change. Click here for the training calendar and seminar descriptions. Other training optionsThe Equity Services Department also provides faculty/divisional based training on request which is tailored to suit the specific needs of each faculty and division. Contact Equity Services for a list of external training providers who can provide additional training opportunities to staff. How to registerGo to Staff Connect via QUT Virtual to check availability and to register. You should register at least a week before the session. Most seminars require a minimum and maximum number of participants, and places will be allocated as registrations are received. All training is FREE. ReportsEquity training has a compliance and professional development function at QUT. And managers and supervisors have additional responsibilities in ensuring staff comply with equity policies. Training reports are produced annually around December.
