Celebrating diversityCelebrations, both professional and social, are a part of university life at QUT. Activities involve participation by staff and students, alumni, visiting academic and professional staff; as well as external visitors from business, industry, government and the community. These celebrations provide important peer and professional networking opportunities and career development. They can also assist in creative and strengthening business, industry and government liaisons. Whether the event is large or small, formal or informal, it should be relevant and appropriate to all participations through attention to diversity and inclusiveness.
Acknowledgement to traditional ownersThe acknowledgement to traditional owners is a recognition of the historical and cultural significance of Indigenous cultures in Australia; and their past, present and future contribution to the richness of Australian society. In the spirit of Reconciliation, the acknowledgement to traditional owners is an important protocol when QUT staff and students come together.
