Tri-ennial reporting on  Equity

This consolidated report on equity at QUT is from Equity Board to the Vice-Chancellor, and is  produced tri-ennially . The University's commitment to equity and social justice is reflected in the top-level plans of the strategic plan.This report looks at equity-related activities across the University, and analyses QUT's overall equity performance and future direction.

Each year, QUT collects and publishes statistics on the gender profile of our workforce and the participation of men and women in various activities.

Gender Equity - Inter-institutional comparisons

The AVCC Action Plan report is a cross-institution comparison Based on parameters from the AVCC Action Plans for Women in Australian Universities.

Student equity reports

Each year, QUT measures the progress of student equity groups and reports the findings externally to DEST and internally to the QUT community.

QUT offers a large scale program of scholarships for low-income students. In order to determine the impact that the scholarships have, and to gain feedback about the scheme, a survey of the recipients has been undertaken in 2005 and 2006.

Disability reports

The survey was conducted in July, 2006 to survey the level of satisfaction amongst students with a disability at QUT who access QUT's Disability Services.

A total of 403 questionnaires were sent to students for whom service plans had been created or who had used QUT's disability services during first semester 2006 and second semester 2005

Other reports and publications

2007 Social Sciences Conference

In July, staff from the Equity Section presented a paper at the International Interdisciplinary Social Sciences Conference held in Granada, Spain.

The conference paper titled Alternatives to Neo-liberal Dictates in Higher Education: The Fight against Student Poverty was authored by Anna King, Jane Doutre and Maria Macindoe.
