In 2008, QUT, in partnership with the Australian South Sea Islander Community Foundation, will offer a scholarship to an eligible student. The value of this scholarship is $5,000 per year for a full-time student, or $2,500 per year for a part-time student. The scholarship will be paid each year the recipient is enrolled in the undergraduate course. The scholarship holder will also receive tuition support to assist them with academic requirements.

Eligibility

All Australian South Sea Islander students enrolled in an undergraduate course at QUT are encouraged to apply. For detailed eligibility criteria please refer to the application form.

Australian South Sea Islanders are the direct descendants of South Sea Islanders who were brought into Queensland between 1863 and 1904 and worked as indentured labourers.
