QUT is committed to equal participation at university by all students regardless of social and economic backgrounds. One of the University's key strategic goals is to address poverty as a barrier to university study.

To this end, the University has developed a number of alternative entry schemes and Equity Scholarships Scheme to assist students from low-income backgrounds to enter university, and have access to financial support while studying.
