The Indigenous Australian Employment and Career Development Strategy was launched in July 2002. Strategy objectives include increasing employment of Indigenous Australians to 2.6% of University staff; and providing support for Indigenous Australians to enhance Indigenous employment and retention rates at QUT.

In September 2002, the University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the south-east Queensland ATSIC regional council. Under the agreement QUT and ATSIC will work together to boost Indigenous employment and collaborate on a range of research and capacity building projects. For more information about QUT's committment to Reconciliation through education and employment, refer to the QUT Reconciliation site

QUT's Human Resources Department oversees the implementation of the Indigenous Australian Employment and Career Development Strategy. Click here to for more information about this strategy on the Human Resources Department website.
