In addition, HREOC investigates alleged
infringements of human rights under the Human
Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission Act 1986.
The Federal Government recently released for public information the Disability Standards for Education which clarify what students can reasonably expect from their education providers, so that they can make the most of their educational opportunities.
The Commission also has an important educative and public awareness-raising
