Underpinning the work of the Equity Section is a broad base of equity policies and equity objectives embedded in the QUT Institutional Plan and its four top-level support plans. These have the common aim of providing all students and staff with a fair and equitable opportunity to access, fully participate in and succeed in study and employment. These policies are based on Federal and State legislation which protects the rights of all members of our community.

This section provides information on the Commonwealth and State legislation on which QUT equity policies are based, the strategic priorities of the University as reflected in the University's Equity Plan, and the University structures responsible for implementing these strategies within the University such as Equity Board and Faculty/Divisional Equity Committees.
