This section has information on contact officer networks available to staff and students experiencing discrimination, staff networks and Student Guild services.
Ally Network
Allies are trained to understand sexuality and gender issues and to provide 'safe zones', support and referral for staff and students who identify as LGBTIQ.
Allies are not identified as any particular sexuality or gender identity but represent a commitment to promoting QUT as a safe, inclusive and diverse university. Click here for more information on the Ally Network, becoming an Ally and finding an Ally.

Discrimination Contact Officer Network
A Discrimination Contact Officer (DCO) is usually the first point of contact and information for staff and students involved in a complaint of discrimination or harassment (eg race, gender, sexuality or disability discrimination).
You may wish to speak to a Discrimination Contact Officer if:
- you feel you have experienced discrimination or harassment;
- you think that a complaint of discrimination or harassment has been made against you; or
- you are a supervisor or manager involved in conciliating a complaint.
There are Discrimination Contact Officers located at all QUT campuses. All discussions with a DCO are treated confidentially. Click here to find out more about how a Discrimination Contact Officer can help you.

QUT Staff network - GALNET
GALNET is the QUT Gay and Lesbian Staff Network. This staff network
offers staff who identify as lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender, intersex or queer the opportunity to share experiences, discuss issues of relevance, and socialise with fellow members of the LGBTIQ community, particularly within the university environment. It includes an email network (GALNET@qut.edu.au) and social activities organised by the group. To find out more about GALNET,

Student Guild

QUT's Student Guild has a comprehensive range of services for students who identify as lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender, intersex or queer, or those who are just unsure about their sexuality.
