QUT is committed to providing an environment which values each member of its diverse community, and protects staff and students from bullying, harassment and unlawful discrimination.

However, despite evolving community attitudes - prejudice, bias and violence against members of the queer community - continues to exist in society. Regardless of how safe an environment QUT may appear, fear of homophobic behaviour, or uncertainty about safety or fair treatment, can affect the quality of a person's work and/or study and their inclusion in all aspects of university and community life.

This site contains information to assist lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex or queer (LGBTIQ) staff and students to protect their rights, gain support, and to network with other staff or students who are queer.

This site also has valuable information and links for parents and friends, colleagues and students within the QUT community to assist them in valuing diversity and protecting the rights of all staff and students.
