New DVD to help you decide about uni

The Equity Section unveiled its latest outreach initiative for students from equity target groups. project u is a unique resource for prospective students which addresses a range of issues which often deter students from considering higher education.

project u addresses issues such as the costs of study, managing stress, living away from home, finding appropriate information and keeping options for university open.

What makes this project unique is that the key messages are delivered by students and for students. Current students have generously shared their own personal experiences of coming to university providing very frank, honest and helpful information to their peers. The DVD has a strong representation of Indigneous students and staff who can provide advice and information relevant to Indigenous people.

The DVD includes bold animation, original music, informative interviews, competitions and a supporting website.

Over 30 000 copies of the DVD have been distributed around Queensland to high school students, via PCYCs, Youth Support Coordinators, retail outlets and youth-based events.
